Step 1: Check Your Application Status
Log into your TEACH account and review the current status of your certification application. If the status reads "Evaluation Complete - Pending Final Review," it means that all submitted requirements have been verified and the system is performing an automated check for any outstanding updates or changes.
If the status reads "Evaluation Complete Pending Information," this means you have deficiencies in your application and we have not received new information. You can see the deficiencies and how to resolve them by logging into your TEACH account, selecting Account Information, then Correspondence, and then selecting the Notice of Uncompleted Requirements.
If the status reads "Ready for Review" it means we have received information and your application is in line for evaluation.
Step 2: Monitor Your TEACH Account for Updates
Continue to monitor your application status regularly. Typically, if there are no pending changes, your certificates should be marked as "Issued" within 48-72 hours. This automated update reflects the completion of your application review.
Step 3: Contact the Office of Teaching Initiatives for Assistance
If your certificates do not show as "Issued" within 72 hours after your status shows "Pending Final Review," please contact the Office of Teaching Initiatives (OTI) to follow up. They can provide information on any additional actions or documentation required to complete your certification process.
Step 4: Watch for Holds and Communications
Keep an eye on the email address registered with your TEACH account for any notices regarding holds or required actions on your certification issuance. Promptly responding to these communications can prevent processing delays.
Step 5: Keep Your Contact Information Updated
Ensure that your contact details in the TEACH system are current. Accurate information enables timely updates and correspondence from NYSED regarding your certification status. Please be sure your email and mailing address are up to date in your account.
